About

Mission and Vision

The Power of We Consortium (PWC) was established as the Multi-Purpose Human Service Collaborative Council in 1996. PWC has seen many iterations but at its core, PWC has been dedicated to identifying and implementing community solutions through collaboration. The PWC aims to promote healthy, thriving residents by ensuring individuals have access to services and resources to meet their basic, health, and wellbeing needs.

PWC includes representatives from health and human service providers, funders, advisory councils, and individuals. PWC is focused on improving the health, well-being, self-sufficiency, and quality of life of the citizens of Ingham County.

Planning for the Future

Since 2021, PWC has embarked in a process to reinvigorate the consortium with the support of collective impact consultant, Pennie Foster Fishman.  Over the past year, PWC has embarked on a needs assessment process to inform the development of a vision designed to guide the selection of shared goals and collective action for PWC partners.   The PWC sought input from community members, clients of local health and human services, front-line human service workers, key county leaders, and our partners in Eaton and Clinton Human Service Collaboratives to inform our vision.

Action Agenda

PWC continues to meet monthly offering critical presentations about resources, organizations and issues impacting citizens and the delivery of coordinated services across Ingham County. These are valuable networking meetings for front-line workers, particularly those new to the region who need to become aware of a wide array of partners to refer their clients.

At each meeting, the PWC will also break into two action groups to guide our collective strategy. The two action groups that were recommended through the strategic planning process are:

PWC will work to improve easier access to services for residents.

  1. Action Step 1: Compile resource directories in the region and posting them on an online hub
  2. Action Step 2: Host 211 updating parties to ensure the Call Center has the most up to date contact and resource information to refer clients.

PWC will work to improve care coordination in Ingham County.

  1. Action Step 1:  Ensure capacity among service providers to offer translation services due to the high number of immigrants and refugees being resettled in our community.
  2. Action Step 2: Develop a referral mechanism across the region in collaboration with our Eaton and Clinton HSCC peers.
